In April 2025, vehicle sales in China climbed by 9.8% compared to the same period last year, following an 8.2% increase in March, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). Notably, sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) experienced a significant rise of 44.2% in April, marking the second consecutive month of robust growth. Analyzing the performance between January and April 2025, overall car sales surged by 10.8%, reaching a total of 10.06 million units. During this period, NEV sales demonstrated a remarkable increase of 46.2%. For the entire year 2025, projections suggest a 4.7% growth in car sales, amounting to 32.9 million units, with NEVs expected to rise by 24.4% to hit 16 million units. In contrast, the previous year witnessed a total vehicle sales growth of 4.5%, culminating in 31.436 million units, which was a deceleration from the 12% surge recorded in 2023.
