FX.co ★ Dutch Jobless Rate Steady at 3.8%

In May 2025, the unemployment rate in the Netherlands, adjusted for seasonal fluctuations, remained constant at 3.8% compared to the previous month. The unemployed population slightly decreased by 2,000, bringing the total to 385,000, as employment figures climbed to 9.833 million. The labor force participation rate remained unchanged at 76.1%. During this timeframe, there was an increase in unemployment benefits, with notable rises observed in the sectors of agriculture, landscaping, and fisheries (+7.3%); the food and luxury goods industry (+7%); construction (+5.1%); government (+4.5%); and other commercial services (+3.6%). When compared to May 2024, the current unemployment rate is 0.2 percentage points higher than the 3.6% recorded a year earlier.
