In June 2025, France's business climate indicator remained at 96, the same as the previous month, and continued to reflect its lowest point since February 2025. This figure stayed beneath the long-term average of 100, largely attributed to a persistent downturn in sentiment among manufacturers, which recorded a dip to 96 from 97 in May. Meanwhile, the construction sector's business climate also experienced a slight decrease, aligning with its long-term average of 100, down from 101. Conversely, the services sector showed a modest improvement, rising from 95 to 96, buoyed by enhanced demand and more optimistic staffing projections. Retailers also experienced a slight boost in confidence, increasing to 99 from 98, supported by stronger ordering intentions. The employment climate indicator rose by 3 percentage points, climbing to 97 in June from 94 in May, although it remained below its long-term average for the previous year. This increase was primarily driven by better expectations for staffing levels in the services sector, excluding temporary staff.
