In April 2025, Greece's current account deficit decreased to €2.112 billion from €2.498 billion in April 2024, marking the third month in a row of a deficit. The shortfall in the goods account shrank to €2.9 billion from €3.1 billion, as both imports and exports declined, dropping to €6.64 billion from €7.50 billion and to €3.76 billion from €4.37 billion, respectively. Additionally, there was a slight increase in the services account surplus, reaching €1.00 billion in April 2025, up from €0.94 billion the previous year. The primary income account deficit also saw a significant drop, narrowing to €0.005 billion from €0.17 billion. Conversely, the secondary income deficit rose to €0.23 billion, up from €0.14 billion. For the year-to-date period, the current account deficit contracted to €0.322 billion compared to €6.58 billion during the same timeframe the previous year.
