Tourist arrivals in Macau reached 3.37 million in May 2025, reflecting a 25.3% growth compared to the same period last year—up from an 18.9% rise in April. Notably, same-day visitors surged by 39.2%, while overnight visitors experienced a 9.4% uptick. The average stay reduced slightly by 0.1 day to 1.1 days overall, with same-day visitors averaging a stay of 0.2 days and overnight visitors maintaining a 2.3-day duration. Analyzing the source market, arrivals from Mainland China increased significantly by 31.4% to 2.4 million, boosted by a 46.5% rise among those traveling under the Individual Visit Scheme. Meanwhile, visitors from Hong Kong rose by 6.7% to 621.1 thousand, and those from Taiwan grew by 14.3% to 78.8 thousand. International visitors, too, saw a notable increase of 25.6% year-on-year, totaling 232.2 thousand.
