In June 2025, the HCOB Germany Services PMI improved to 49.4, up from 47.1 in May, and exceeded market predictions of 47.5, according to preliminary data. This indicates that the decline in the service sector activity was minimal, signifying the least severe contraction during the three-month downturn. Meanwhile, new business within the sector almost reached a point of stability, experiencing just a slight dip – the most moderate drop seen during the ongoing ten-month decline. Although the workforce grew marginally more than it did in May, this increase remained insufficient to halt the overall employment reduction, which has persisted for the thirteenth consecutive month.
