In June 2025, the inflation rate in East Timor remained steady, after experiencing a 0.2% decline in the prior month. The cost of food and non-alcoholic beverages saw a recovery (increasing by 0.1% from a drop of 0.3% in May), while the rate of deflation in the transport sector slightly lessened (-1.7% compared to -1.8%). There was an uptick in the prices of clothing and footwear as well, rising to 1.0% from 0.9%. Conversely, housing costs experienced a minor reduction (decreasing to 0.4% from 0.5%). Meanwhile, prices remained unchanged for categories such as furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance (0.7%), recreation and culture (0.6%), education (0.4%), health (0.0%), and alcohol and tobacco (-0.9%). On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices saw a 0.1% increase in June 2025, bouncing back from a 0.2% drop in the previous month.
