In June 2025, Sweden recorded an unemployment rate of 9.4%, mirroring the rate from the previous year at the same time. Although the number of unemployed individuals decreased by 7,000 compared to the prior year, bringing the total to 559,000, employment figures saw a reduction of 27,000, resulting in a total of 5.40 million employed individuals. Consequently, the employment rate experienced a decline of 0.6 percentage points, settling at 70.9%, while the labor force participation rate slightly diminished by 0.2 percentage points to 78.2%. The average total hours worked weekly amounted to 154.3 million. After adjusting for seasonal variations, the unemployment rate was recorded at 8.7%.
