FX.co ★ Kazakhstan Industrial Output Growth Hits 8-Year High

In August 2025, Kazakhstan saw a robust 12.8% year-on-year increase in industrial production, up from 8.9% in July. This represents the most significant expansion in industrial activity since August 2017, driven chiefly by a notable rise in output within the mining and quarrying sector, which surged 17.5% compared to 8.6% in the previous month. Additionally, the water supply, waste management, and pollution control sectors experienced a smaller contraction, decreasing by just 0.5% against a 16.4% decline in July. However, growth in manufacturing decelerated slightly to 9.3% from 9.6%, and the electricity, gas, steam, hot water, and air conditioning supply sectors also saw growth ease to 3.4% from 9.6%. On a monthly scale, industrial activity improved by 3.8% in August, recovering from a 3.4% decline in July. For the period from January to August, industrial output rose by 7.6% compared to the same timeframe in the previous year.
