In September 2025, Finland saw its unemployment rate rise to 9.1%, up from 8.1% during the same period in the previous year. The number of unemployed individuals increased by 32,000 compared to the prior year, reaching a total of 259,000. Simultaneously, the number of people employed grew by 16,000, bringing the total employment figure to 2.589 million. Notably, the unemployment rate among individuals aged 15 to 24 ascended to 16.6%, a 0.5 percentage point rise year-on-year. Moreover, the activity rate for those aged 15 to 74 increased to 68.3%, up from 67.4% a year earlier, whereas the employment rate for individuals aged 20 to 64 slightly declined to 75.9% from 76.4%.
