On Thursday, futures contracts for the Dow Jones, S&P 500, and Nasdaq 100 each decreased by approximately 0.2% as market participants evaluated the latest corporate earnings reports. Tesla shares experienced a 3.7% dip in premarket trading after the company reported earnings that fell short of expectations, with profits declining by more than 25% despite an uptick in vehicle deliveries. IBM shares dropped 6.4% as their results did not satisfy investor expectations. In a similar vein, T-Mobile fell 1.5% due to an earnings miss, and Union Pacific slipped 0.9%, attributed to revenue figures that did not meet forecasts. Conversely, Blackstone saw a modest gain of 0.3% following a report of increased distributable earnings, and Honeywell surged 4% after surpassing sales projections. Later today, Intel, which has declined by 1.3%, is expected to release its earnings results. Additionally, investors are considering the implications of rising oil prices following sanctions imposed by President Trump on Russia’s key oil producers, Rosneft and Lukoil. Trade tensions remain prominent, amid reports suggesting that the White House might restrict the export of US software to China.
