In September 2025, construction output in the Czech Republic increased by 12.8% compared to the same month the previous year. This marked a deceleration from the revised growth rate of 17% in August, which had been the most robust expansion seen since January 2018. Significant moderation was evident in civil engineering projects, experiencing growth of 15.9% compared to 27.3% in August. Similarly, building construction witnessed a slight decrease in its growth rate, coming in at 11% compared to 11.1% previously. The estimated value of building permits issued in September fell by 8.0% year-on-year to CZK 41.5 billion, and the commencement of new dwellings dropped by 19.6% to a total of 3,556 units. On a month-over-month basis, construction activity dipped by 3.2% in September.
