In October 2025, Japan's foreign reserves rose by $6.11 billion, reaching a total of $1.35 trillion, marking their highest point since March 2022. The composition of these reserves includes $1.15 trillion in foreign currency reserves, $11.19 billion within the IMF reserve position, $60.35 billion in Special Drawing Rights (SDRs), $109.11 billion in gold, and $16.08 billion in other assets. The finance ministry has confirmed that there were no foreign exchange interventions between July and September 2025.
