Poland Inflation Rate Confirmed at Over 1-Year Low

Poland's inflation rate eased slightly to 2.8% in October 2025 from 2.9% in September, aligning with preliminary projections. This marks the lowest inflation since June 2024. The deceleration was driven by a more modest increase in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.4% compared to 4.2%), recreation and culture (2.0% compared to 2.5%), education (6.2% compared to 6.8%), and other goods and services (0.8% compared to 2.0%). Additionally, deflation intensified in categories such as furnishings, household equipment, and maintenance (-1.1% compared to -0.9%) and clothing and footwear (-1.1% compared to -0.8%). Conversely, there was a slight uptick in prices for housing and utilities (4.2% compared to 4.1%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (7.0% compared to 6.8%), and restaurants and hotels (5.5% compared to 5.4%). Meanwhile, the rate of deflation in the transport sector lessened (-2.3% compared to -3.8%). Month-on-month, consumer prices saw a 0.1% increase in October, following a stagnant September, corroborating preliminary data.
