In September 2025, Ecuador's trade surplus diminished to $104.5 million, compared to $347 million in the same month the previous year. The value of exports increased to $2.93 billion from $2.76 billion, propelled by a rise in primary product shipments, which reached $2.35 billion from $2.25 billion. Industrial exports also saw growth, climbing to $579.9 million from $506.9 million. On the import side, there was an uptick to $2.83 billion from $2.41 billion. This increase was fueled by a rise in raw material imports, which escalated to $950.6 million from $782.1 million. Imports of consumer goods also grew, reaching $672 million from $541.3 million, and capital goods surged to $647.2 million from $441 million. However, the purchases of fuels and lubricants decreased, falling to $545.3 million from $643.2 million.
