FX.co ★ Hungary Gross Wage Growth at 3-Month High

Hungary witnessed a 9.5% year-over-year increase in its gross wages, reaching HUF 687,078 by September 2025. This follows an 8.7% rise observed in the preceding month. All major subsectors showed positive trends: the private sector experienced an 8.8% increase compared to 8.5% in August, the public sector surged by 12.2% from 9.3%, and the non-profit sector saw a gain of 9.9% against 9.7%. Excluding any one-off payments and bonuses, the September wages stood at HUF 660,400, reflecting a 9.3% increase from the previous year. Over the January to September period, the average gross wages saw a growth of 9.1%.
