Morocco Inflation Rate Lowest Since 2021

In October 2025, Morocco experienced a slowdown in its annual inflation rate, dropping to 0.1% from 0.4% recorded in September. This represents the most modest pace since March 2021, primarily attributed to a decrease in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, which fell by 0.5% compared to an increase of 0.4% in September, alongside a continued reduction in transport prices, declining by 1.9% compared to a previous drop of 2.4%. There was also a deceleration in inflation for furnishings (0.6% down from 0.8%), restaurants and hotels (2.4% down from 2.9%), and clothing and footwear (0.8% down from 0.9%). However, inflation remained stable for education at 2.1% and for alcoholic beverages and tobacco at 3.4%. Conversely, inflation saw an upturn in the sectors of housing and utilities, rising to 0.7% from 0.6%, healthcare, which increased to 0.3% from 0.2%, and miscellaneous goods and services, inching up to 1.5% from 1.4%. On a month-to-month basis, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) dropped by 0.6% in October, counteracting the 0.2% rise observed in September, and represented the sharpest decline since January 2024.
