India has commenced an anti-dumping inquiry concerning imports of Polyester Textured Yarn (PTY) from China. This action follows a petition submitted by Reliance Industries Limited and Wellknown Polyester Limited, as disclosed by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) on Thursday, according to the Economic Times. The petitioners claim that imports of PTY from China have inflicted significant harm on the Indian domestic industry. Filatex India Limited, Madelin Enterprises Private Limited, Garden Silk Mills Limited, Indorama Synthetics Limited, and Sanathan Textiles Ltd are backing the application. The DGTR remarked that there is ample preliminary evidence to suggest that the dumped Chinese products are affecting the Indian market. The investigation will cover the period from April 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025.
