In October 2025, Bulgaria experienced a modest rise in tourist arrivals, increasing by 0.4% compared to the previous year, bringing the total to 956,700 visitors. This followed a more substantial 3.5% growth in September. The data reflects an upward trend across all categories of travel purposes. Most notably, 46.1% of trips were categorized under 'other purposes,' with holiday and recreation trips making up 38.5%, and professional trips comprising 15.4% of the total.
The European Union was the source of 54% of all visitors to Bulgaria, with Romania contributing the largest share at 36.3%, followed by Greece at 22% and Germany at 13.3%. Additionally, visitors from other European countries accounted for 37.8% of total arrivals, significantly influenced by Turkey, which represented 49% of this group.
