Cyprus Consumer Prices Drop for 7th Month

In November 2025, consumer prices in Cyprus witnessed a year-on-year decline of 0.5%, following a 0.3% reduction observed in the previous month. This marked the seventh consecutive month of deflation. The persistent decrease in prices was primarily driven by reductions in the cost of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which fell by 3.1%, compared to a 2.1% decline in October. Housing and utilities saw a drop of 1.2% versus 1.1% in the prior month, while transportation costs decreased by 0.7% compared to a 0.4% reduction before. Clothing and footwear prices fell by 7.6%, surpassing the 6.7% drop recorded in October, and prices for furnishings, household equipment, and supplies saw a 0.8% decline compared to a 1% decrease previously. Conversely, there was an increase in the prices of restaurants and hotels, which rose by 5%, up from a 4.4% increase, along with miscellaneous goods and services, which increased by 1%, a rise from the previous 0.6%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices fell by 0.6% in November, marking the first decline in four months and reversing the 0.5% rise seen in October.
