Moldova experienced a notable reduction in its unemployment rate, reaching 3.5% in the third quarter of 2025, the lowest point since the third quarter of 2022. This is a decrease from 4.0% in the preceding quarter. Unemployment among men decreased to 3.9% from 4.4%, while the rate for women declined to 3.1% from 3.6%. In urban areas, the unemployment rate was 3.1%, compared to 2.9% in rural regions. Among the youth, aged 15 to 24, the unemployment rate dropped significantly to 6.8% from 8.3%. The total number of unemployed individuals decreased by 5.4% from the previous quarter, reaching 31,000, as the labor force grew by 62,355 to a total of 887,055. This expansion raised the labor force participation rate for those aged 15 and over to 44.9%, up from 41.8%.
