Retail sales in the Czech Republic experienced a 2.8% increase year-on-year in October 2025, narrowly missing market forecasts of a 3% growth, yet matching the heightened revision of a 2.8% increase from September. Sales in non-food products saw growth, with a 4.3% rise compared to 3.2% in the preceding month. Notably, cultural and recreational goods surged by 8.0% from 3.5%, while clothing, footwear, and leather goods improved by 5.9% from a previous 1.6% incline. Additionally, sales through mail order or internet channels increased by 7.3% as opposed to 4.3%. In contrast, the sales of automotive fuel decelerated to 5.5% from 9.4%, and the decline in food, beverages, and tobacco persisted marginally at -0.3% against -0.2%. On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, retail activity grew by 0.4% in October, overturning a 0.2% decline observed in September.
