In October 2025, Canada's wholesale trade saw a slight increase of 0.1% from the previous month, reaching C$86.0 billion, surpassing forecasts that anticipated a 0.1% decline. This growth was reflected across four of the seven subsectors, comprising approximately half of the wholesale activity. The motor vehicles and parts sector saw a 2.3% rise, totaling C$14.7 billion, while the farm product wholesalers experienced a significant 16.7% increase, reaching C$2.0 billion, marking the sixth consecutive monthly increase in this sector. However, these gains were somewhat counterbalanced by a 3.7% decline in miscellaneous wholesalers, falling to C$10.9 billion. Ontario led the provincial performance with a 0.9% increase, bringing its total to C$44.3 billion, marking its fifth gain in six months. When excluding Ontario's figures, national wholesale sales actually decreased by 0.8%. Meanwhile, wholesale inventories remained stable at C$135.4 billion.
