In November 2025, ANZ-Indeed Australian Job Ads experienced a slight decline of 0.5% compared to the previous month. This was an improvement from the revised decrease of 1.5% observed in October, marking the mildest decline since August and continuing a six-month downward trajectory. The softening of the contraction can be attributed to seasonal variations, with significant reductions in hiring within the retail, sales, and food services sectors due to the conclusion of temporary recruitment ahead of the peak shopping season. Conversely, there was an upsurge in demand for roles in logistics, beauty and wellness, and healthcare, particularly for positions such as physicians and surgeons, highlighting persisting areas of labor robustness. On a year-over-year basis, job advertisements dropped by 7.4%, indicating a gradual decrease in labor demand amid more stringent financial conditions. Nevertheless, job postings remained 6.2% higher than pre-pandemic levels.
