Serbia Building Permits Drop in November

In November 2025, the issuance of building permits in Serbia declined by 3.1% compared to the same month the previous year, totaling 2,724 permits. This followed a 2.9% decrease observed in October. Of these permits, 83.2% were designated for buildings, while the remaining 16.8% were issued for civil engineering projects. Breaking down the data further, 84.4% of building permits were for residential purposes, with the remaining 15.6% for non-residential structures. Within civil engineering, a significant 73.3% of permits were related to the construction of pipelines, communication networks, and electric power lines. The report documented the construction of 4,451 residential units, with an average size of 62.4 square meters. These included 7.0% in single-dwelling buildings, while 92.4% were in multi-unit structures. The estimated value of new construction projects accounted for 92.4% of the total value, with the highest concentration in the Beograd (Belgrade) area at 61.6%, followed by Južnobačka at 6.3%, and Pomoravska at 4.3%.
