Ireland Inflation Rate Eases to 3-Month Low

In November 2025, the annual inflation rate fell to 2.8%, down from a near two-year peak of 3.2% recorded in October. This represents the lowest level since September, as pressures on prices began to ease across several sectors. Notably, there was a moderation in the cost of food and non-alcoholic beverages which decreased to 4.1% from 4.3%. Similarly, the inflation rates for housing and utilities declined to 3.3% from 3.5%, transport plummeted to 0.2% from 2.6%, and recreation and culture dropped to 1.8% from 3.3%. Meanwhile, prices remained unchanged for health at 2.7%, communications at 1.3%, education at 8.9%, and restaurants and hotels at 3.6%. Conversely, the prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco rose slightly to 2.6% from 2.5%, and clothing and footwear saw a sharper increase to 5.7% from 4.4%. The deflation rate for furnishings, household equipment, and routine maintenance became less pronounced, moving to -0.4% from -0.6%. On a month-to-month comparison, consumer prices climbed by 0.5%, recovering from a 0.2% decline in October.
