In December 2025, Georgia's trade deficit slightly expanded to USD 1,174.8 million, up from USD 1,149.3 million in the same month the previous year, marking the highest deficit in nearly a year. This increase results from an 8.8% rise in imports, reaching USD 1,848 million, alongside a 22.5% increase in exports, totaling USD 673.2 million. Over the full year from January to December, the trade deficit saw a significant rise to USD 11,238.5 million compared to USD 10,328.1 million the year before. Export activity grew by 11.1%, amounting to USD 7,291.2 million, with notable contributions from sales to Kyrgyzstan (USD 1,498.8 million), Kazakhstan (USD 910 million), and Russia (USD 749.3 million). Concurrently, imports increased by 9.7%, reaching a total of USD 18,529.7 million, driven by substantial purchases from Turkey (USD 2,775 million), the United States (USD 2,723 million), and China (USD 1,985.4 million).
