Australia's NAB Business Confidence Index experienced a slight increase to 3 in December 2025, following a revised upward figure of 2 in November. Concurrently, business conditions improved, with the index rising from 7 in November to 9 in December. This growth was primarily fueled by increases in both sales, which climbed from 13 to 16, and profits, which rose to 4. Employment levels remained stable at 4. Over the three months leading to December, price measures saw a slight uptick, while capacity utilization marginally decreased yet remained robust at 83.2%. NAB's Chief Economist, Sally Auld, remarked that the survey results align with the observation of enhanced momentum in the Australian economy during the fourth quarter, emphasizing that the high utilization rates were widespread.
