North Macedonia Industrial Output Rises in December

In December 2025, North Macedonia saw a 2.3% year-on-year increase in industrial production, bouncing back from a 2.8% decline in November. The manufacturing sector experienced a 4.5% rise, primarily stimulated by increased output in food products, beverages, rubber and plastic goods, other non-metallic mineral goods, motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, and furniture. However, there were decreases in the mining and quarrying sector, which fell by 6.6%, and in the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sector, which dropped by 3.9%. Among the main industrial groupings, production of intermediate goods excluding energy surged by 9.8%, while non-durable consumer goods saw a modest increase of 2.4%. Conversely, declines were observed in the categories of energy (-3.9%), capital goods (-0.8%), and durable consumer goods (-3.8%). Over the entirety of 2025, industrial production grew by 1.9% compared to 2024. The strongest contributors to December's growth were food products with a 3.5% contribution, beverages with a significant 34.2% rise, and motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers, also contributing 3.5%.
