In January 2026, Mexico's Consumer Confidence Index experienced a slight decline, decreasing by 0.6 points from the previous month to settle at 44.0. This marks the lowest point since December 2022. The sub-index reflecting the country's current economic conditions fell by 0.5 points to 38.8, while the 12-month economic outlook also saw a decrease of 0.5 points, reaching 43.9. The index measuring households' current capacity to purchase durable goods dipped by 0.4 points to 30.5. Additionally, the evaluation of the current household economic situation declined by 0.9 points, although it remained above the threshold of optimism at 50.3. Expectations for household finances over the next 12 months slightly decreased by 0.7 points to 56.6. When observed on an annual scale, consumer confidence has dropped by 2.7 points.
