The University of Michigan’s survey showed that year-ahead inflation expectations in the United States were revised slightly lower to 3.4% in February 2026, marking the lowest level in over a year. This compares with a preliminary estimate of 3.5% and is down from 4.0% in January. Meanwhile, the five-year inflation outlook was revised to 3.3% from an earlier estimate of 3.4%, unchanged from January’s reading.
