Slovakia’s industrial confidence indicator fell by 2 points in February 2026, declining to -2.3 from -0.3 in January. The outlook for the current level of orders deteriorated further (-16 vs -14), and expectations for future production weakened noticeably (8 vs 17). The softer production outlook reflected lower anticipated output in wood and paper products (12 vs 38), textiles (-1 vs 16), and electrical equipment (-6 vs 14). By contrast, sentiment regarding current export orders was unchanged at -15. At the same time, the assessment of current industrial production improved and turned positive, rising to 11 from -5. The employment outlook became slightly less negative (-5 vs -6), and expectations for selling prices strengthened further (9 vs 6).
