Greek retail sales posted a strong year-on-year gain in December 2025, rising 5.1% compared with the same month a year earlier. The latest data, updated on 27 February 2026, show a clear acceleration from November 2025, when retail sales were up just 0.7% year-on-year.
The figures underscore a sharp improvement in consumer activity at the end of 2025, with December’s reading significantly outpacing the prior month’s annual growth rate. Both the current and previous indicators are measured on a year-over-year basis, comparing each month’s performance with the corresponding month a year earlier.
