The February figure, measured on a month-over-month basis, indicates a significantly stronger price momentum compared with the previous month, when inflation was almost flat. The January reading of 0.05% had reflected only a marginal increase in prices versus December, but the latest data show that price pressures have intensified going into February.
The comparison underscores a notable shift in Vietnam’s short-term inflation dynamics, with the February CPI increase more than ten times higher than that of January on a monthly basis.
