Hungary’s Monthly Inflation Cools Further in February, CPI Growth Slows to 0.1%

Hungary’s consumer price momentum eased in February 2026, with the month‑over‑month Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising just 0.10%, down from 0.30% in January 2026. The fresh data, updated on 10 March 2026, point to a continued deceleration in short‑term price growth compared with the start of the year.

On a month‑over‑month basis, the current reading shows that prices in February increased at only one‑third of January’s pace. In January, CPI was 0.30% higher than in December, while in February it was 0.10% higher than in January, underscoring a moderation in price pressures.

The figures, assessed on a month‑to‑month comparison, indicate that inflationary trends remain present but are losing momentum, which could influence expectations for monetary policy and market pricing in the coming months if the slowdown proves persistent.
