German Inflation Inches Higher as February CPI MoM Rises to 0.2%

Germany’s consumer price inflation ticked up in February, with the month-over-month Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising to 0.2%, compared with a 0.1% increase previously. Both readings relate to February 2026, with the earlier figure reflecting price changes from the prior month, and the latest data updated on 11 March 2026.

On a month-over-month basis, the current 0.2% result shows a modest acceleration in price growth compared to the 0.1% change recorded in the previous comparison period. According to the comparison methodology, the “actual” figure measures the price change for February versus the preceding month, while the “previous” figure captured the change in the prior month against its own preceding period.

The slight uptick in February’s CPI suggests that price pressures in Germany are edging higher, though still at a restrained pace. Market participants and policymakers are likely to monitor upcoming releases closely to determine whether this marks the beginning of a firmer inflation trend or a temporary blip in an otherwise moderate price environment.
