Finland’s manufacturing confidence indicator declined to -1 in March 2026, down from a five-month high of 3 in February, pushing it below the long-term average of 0. While manufacturers’ expectations for production in the coming months remained positive, they were somewhat more subdued than in the previous month (20 versus 24 in February). Order books weakened further (-21 versus -17), whereas inventories of finished goods rose (1 versus -2), moving closer to the long-term average of 3. There also remains considerable spare capacity in the sector: 61% of respondents reported operating at full capacity in March, up from 57% in February. In February, manufacturing confidence in Finland was somewhat stronger than the EU average.
