FX.co ★ South Korea Jobless Rate Falls to 4-Month Low

South Korea’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate eased to 2.7% in March 2026 from 2.9% in February, its lowest level since November. The economy added 206,000 jobs during the month, exceeding 200,000 for the second consecutive month, although weakness in youth employment and the construction sector persisted. The latest job gains, however, were smaller than in February, bringing total employment to 28.795 million. At the same time, the number of unemployed fell to 884,000 in March, a decrease of 35,000, or 3.8%, from a year earlier. The labor force participation rate also edged down to 63% from 64% in February.
