FX.co ★ Canada Wholesale Sales Growth Revised Slightly Down

Canada’s wholesale trade rose 2% month-on-month to C$86.8 billion in February 2026, slightly below the initially reported 2.3% increase and following a revised 1.1% decline in January. Sales were up in five of the seven subsectors, led by motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts and accessories (+6.1% to C$14.4 billion) and food, beverages and tobacco (+2.9% to C$16.5 billion). Sales of personal and household goods also advanced 2.5% to a record high of C$13.2 billion. In contrast, the miscellaneous subsector slipped 0.6% to C$10.9 billion, driven by a 19.4% drop in the mineral, ore and precious metal industry group to C$733.4 million. On an annual basis, wholesale sales were up 1.2% in February.
