United Kingdom GDP growth firmed slightly in February 2026, with the year-over-year rate reaching 1.0%, up from 0.8% in January 2026.
According to the latest data, updated on 16 April 2026, the February figure reflects the change in GDP compared with the same month a year earlier, continuing a modest upward trend from the previous month’s year-over-year reading. January’s 0.8% growth was also measured against January a year earlier under the same comparison basis.
The improvement, while incremental, suggests a mild strengthening in the UK economy early in 2026 as year-over-year growth picks up pace from the start of the year.
