Taiwan’s consumer confidence index rose to 65.05 in June 2026 from 62.08 in May, rebounding from its lowest level in more than three years as sentiment improved across all six core components. The strongest increase was in stock investment prospects, which jumped to 29.9 from 22.06, followed by expectations for future price levels (35.83 vs 32.77), durable goods purchases (93.55 vs 91.68), labor market conditions (72.46 vs 70.7), and household finances (77.7 vs 76.02). Expectations for domestic economic conditions also improved, but more modestly, edging up to 80.87 from 79.26—the smallest gain among the main indicators.
Additional indicators also showed firmer sentiment: confidence in real estate purchases rose to 90.35 from 88.51, assessments of current health conditions increased to 86.82 from 84.92, and expectations for future health conditions improved to 81.86 from 80.01. Despite this broad-based recovery, all six primary sub-indicators remained below the neutral 100-point mark, signaling that consumers still maintain a generally cautious outlook.
