The sector rallied ahead of Alphabet’s earnings release tomorrow, which investors view as a fresh gauge of AI infrastructure demand from hyperscale cloud providers.
Elsewhere in the market, recent selling pressure eased across most sectors, even as tensions between Iran and the US intensified and kept upward pressure on energy prices. Treasury yields stayed elevated, prompting some profit-taking in financials after last week’s earnings-driven rally. General Motors gained 5% following its results, while Charles Schwab fell 3% after missing earnings estimates.
