Iceland Producer Inflation Hits 4-Year High

Iceland’s producer prices jumped 19.4% year-on-year in June 2026, up from 16.8% in May and reaching their highest level since June 2022. The acceleration was largely driven by a steeper rise in prices for marine products, which increased 21.9% compared with 19.6% previously, and for metal products, where inflation surged to 45.3% from 38.1% in May.

Price growth in other manufacturing industries also picked up, climbing to 4.1% from 2.5%. Exported products excluding marine products recorded a sharp increase, with inflation rising to 32.0% from 25.8%, while overall export product inflation quickened to 27.9% from 23.2%.

In contrast, producer inflation moderated in several other categories. Food product inflation slowed to 3.9% from 5.5%, and prices for products sold domestically eased to 2.3% from 3.6% a month earlier. On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 1.6% in June, down from a 2.0% increase in May.
