Australia’s manufacturing sector showed a modest improvement in July, with the S&P Global Manufacturing PMI inching up to 51.7 from 51.5 in June 2026.
The latest reading, updated on 23 July 2026, marks a second consecutive month in expansion territory, as PMI values above 50 indicate growth in manufacturing activity. While the increase is marginal, it suggests that conditions in the sector are gradually strengthening compared with June, when the indicator first registered 51.5.
With the July uptick, Australia’s manufacturing industry continues to signal resilience, maintaining a positive trajectory through mid-2026.
