New housing prices in Canada edged down 0.1% month-over-month in June 2026, following a 0.3% decline in May. The decrease was smaller than the 0.2% drop anticipated by markets and represented the mildest monthly contraction since the last price increase in February. The overall decline was driven by a 0.3% reduction in land prices, while prices for houses excluding land rose 0.1%. On a year-over-year basis, new housing prices fell 2.3%, a slight improvement from the 2.4% decline recorded in May.
