The Ibovespa fell 1%, slipping below 175,500 on Friday, as investors reacted to new US tariffs on Brazilian exports and rising tensions in the Middle East. Sentiment was further pressured by persistent inflation worries and expectations of higher global interest rates, with oil prices still elevated despite easing from recent peaks. Financial stocks retreated, with Itaú, Bradesco, Itaúsa, and Banco do Brasil each losing around 1%. Utilities also weakened, led by Sabesp, which dropped more than 1%. Petrobras declined over 1% as oil prices pulled back from their recent highs.
