FX.co ★ Portugal Retail Sales Up 3% YoY

Retail sales in Portugal rose 3% year-on-year in June 2026, after a downwardly revised 2.8% increase in May. Notable gains were seen in several categories: household goods (7.5% vs 10.8% in May); textiles, clothing and footwear (8.1% vs 11%); computers, telecommunication equipment and books (4.2% vs 0.9%); pharmaceutical products and cosmetics (5.2% vs 5.7%); and online and mail-order sales (17.1% vs 10.3%). Excluding fuel, retail sales were up 3.8% year-on-year, following a 4.4% rise in May. On a monthly basis, retail sales rebounded by 1.7% in June, after a 0.2% decline in May.
