US stock futures rose on Friday as investors digested a fresh wave of earnings from major technology companies. In after-hours trading, Amazon jumped more than 9% after reporting second-quarter revenue that beat forecasts, driven by strong growth in its cloud-computing division and reinforcing optimism around AI-related spending. By contrast, Apple dropped more than 6% after its services revenue fell short of expectations, even though overall third-quarter revenue topped estimates, supported by a 22% surge in iPhone sales.
Chipmakers extended Thursday’s sharp gains in late trading, with Micron up 3%, Sandisk 5.4%, AMD 3%, Intel 4.3%, and Nvidia 0.7%. During Thursday’s regular session, the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite advanced 2.78%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 gained 1.19% and 1.66%, respectively. Technology, consumer discretionary, and industrial shares led the broader market rebound.
