Spain’s current account surplus narrowed to EUR 1.84 billion in May 2026, down from EUR 6.37 billion in the same month a year earlier. The surplus in goods and services decreased to EUR 5.74 billion from EUR 8.42 billion. Tourism revenues, however, increased to EUR 7.6 billion from EUR 6.9 billion a year earlier. At the same time, the combined primary and secondary income deficit widened to EUR 3.90 billion from EUR 2.05 billion.
