Vietnam’s July Retail Sales Growth Eases Slightly to 14.5% YoY

Vietnam’s retail sales growth cooled marginally in July 2026, with the year-over-year rate easing to 14.5% from 14.8% in June, according to data updated on 3 August 2026. The figures are based on a comparison of each month’s performance against the same month a year earlier.

The July reading suggests that, while momentum in consumer spending remains strong, it has softened slightly compared with the previous month’s pace. In June 2026, retail sales were up 14.8% year-over-year, and the latest 14.5% increase in July indicates only a modest loss of speed in what remains a robust expansion.

Despite the slight deceleration, the double-digit annual growth rate underscores continued resilience in Vietnam’s consumer sector. The year-over-year comparison framework shows that, relative to July of the previous year, spending levels are still expanding at a solid clip, even as the rate of increase has edged down from June.
